L'Oreal Paris Super Liner

Gel eyeliner is what everyone is talking about. And why not, the ease that it offers is, without a shadow of doubt, the reason for it’s supremacy over other types of eyeliners.

The Super Liner gel eyeliner from L’oreal Paris is my go to option for this genre of eyeliner. I have been wearing the brown shade day in day out. Given my love for tracing my upper lashline thick, the brown shade of L’oreal’s Super Liner helps me look sane all the time. Because its brown, you can wear it anytime, work or play! Wear it up wear it down. Your pick, totally!

So, this formula is super creamy and hence allows you to achieve a great level of precision when lining your lashline. It lets you create different styles with a lot of ease. This L’oreal product has it all – fast drying, non smudging, sweatproof, waterproof! Phew!! Really.

I have been using it since a lot of time now, it has never let me down. Always by my side for poolparties, clubbing nights, hot summer afternoons and even on cry days.

Also, when removed with an eye makeup remover, it comes off easily. I prefer using a gentle baby oil for removing eye makeup, which again, works equally good.

The L’oreal Super Liner gel eyeliner comes with a precision brush. It works well for creating thin – close to the lashline – kind of lines as well thick retro inspired flicks.
The packaging is very dapper. A convenient and pretty glass jar. Adds up to the ”pick me up” quotient.
Notice how chocolaty this brown is.

Why has The Super Liner gel eyeliner made way to my permanent make up stash:
  • ·         Smudge-proof
  • ·         Water proof
  • ·         Dries in practically no time, saving me from spoiling the whole look
  • ·         The product is super pigmented, making one swipe enough
  • ·         Creamy! Ensures precise application
  • ·         Suits sensitive eyes as well as works well for the waterline
  • ·         Can be removed easily with eye makeup remover/babyoil

The only downer is the limited number of shades. It comes in just black and brown. A creamy liner like this should be made in a few more shades.

Rating: 4.5/5

Verdict:

Lovely product, insanely dependable. I prefer this over Maybelline s Drama Gel eyeliner, mainly because this is more creamy. Also, Maybelline Gel eyeliner melts a little in extremely hot weather, L’oreal stay intact. Definitely a product you would love to use.

Coral-ised

Ever noticed how a bright lipstick brightens up your eyes in photographs? Yeahhh! That easy trick for taking better pictures. In a generation that is governed by Instagram and Snapchat, coral lips are instant pick me ups.

First it was coral dresses and now it’s the lippies. Blair waldorf wore it in her last season of GG, Kareena Kapoor wore it to her book launch, what are YOU waiting for, eh?

When wearing a subtle coral you can go all out with dark eyes or just let your dewy face and coral lips do the talking. Keep your makeup to the minimum for this. It will be great for a lazy Sunday brunch. Just enough color for your face.

If you are opting for something more deep, go easy on the kohl. See how Bebo works this deep orange hue on her lips. Moderately thick black line to define her upper lashline with the slightest flick, some blush to go with it and highlighting of all the deserving points. I like. Also notice her hair, slicked together, allowing her bright hue to get all the heed.

Tempted? : p

Wearing your whites, Better!

Summer’s scorching heat is hitting higher notes, forcing us to hoard more whites in our closets. Plus, JLo just had a perfect fashion moment in her LWD at the iheartradio music awards. What better excuse do we want, eh!

Gone are the days when u wear white and heap it up with brights and darks. All sorts of accessories – shoes, bags, and the more recent – cellphone covers. Its time to give that contrast a break. Allowing white to do all the talking has become the mantra. JLo, as I mentioned earlier wore her LWD with nude pumps. Ofcourse, she had her signature glow and smokey eyes but she did give a chance to her dress to standout, all by itself. Did we love? Ohh yeaa!!

So then what are we doing to spruce up the white this season? Subtlety should be your take. Say you want to go casual – tan to your rescue. Team your white ensemble with tan add-ons.

Party time? Bling it on!
Add bling to your look, a light golden here and there will help. Don’t forget those diamontes.

That’s not all, for all the makeup junkies like me, you are in for a treat. You have an ocean of options when working with white. Smokey eyes, neon lips, bright lips … Go crazy. Try the red lip like Taylor swift does. Or if you belong to the trendy lot, grab your MAC Candy Yum Yum.

P.S. -- If you are worried about keeping the whiteness intact, keep your whites folded inside out. This way you will keep them away from staining.

COLLAR -- ED

Stand collars, bandhgallaa, peterpan, highnecks … Exit exposed shoulders, enter collared ensemble. The classier take on Indian garments. What’s more, it beautifies the innate beauty of the lady’s face and also adds grace :p. If you have that chiseled face (think Kareena Kapoor) adorn a tightly buttoned down collar and if not, keep that buttonpatti a tad bit open to frame your face for the better.

From the typical block print to a checkerboard print to the trendy neons. Choose your pick. I feel totally spoilt for choice. There are options for the length, color, fabric and patterns. Keep the length long for a modern desi look and keep it short when going to college. For a casual look opt for prints – block print, floral, checkerboard, abstract, absolutely anything. To jazz up these everyday elements, you have a world of options for add-ons. To a printed collared ensemble u can add a plain buttonpatti and cling contrasting color potlis to it. It sounds simple but looks right bang on. Also, while keeping the length long, u may want to add a 3inch sheer fabric just above a thin and meek border, so Bollywood! When working with neons, take blue as the base color and work up your quirk with all possible colors.

Thinking festive? Collars to your rescue, yet again! Get a stand collar kurta made from a rich brocade and sprinkle some solid and bling-y buttons smartly and you are ready to hoard compliments from all those aunties who once called you hippie ;) still want a heavier look? Go for an embellished kurta. On the contrary, if you are already feeling too traditional just at the thought of a bandhgallaa try minimal embellishments just on the collar and sleeves keeping the rest of your kurta of a solid color. These festive options are bound to give you a Tarun Tahiliani vibe, with all that royale stand collar thing going on.

Aaaand, how can I miss the blouses? Give your saree blouse a stand collar and deep cuts to bare those sharp shoulder blades. I bet you won’t stop getting pictures clicked for your BBM.

Still not convinced, my last try here is definitely going to tempt you to get up from your droopy-laptop staring posture. CUTOUTS. Give your kurta a standcollar or any collar for that matter and get a big sexy cutout for your back. That sudden body-show is so going to get all eyes fixed as you walk past.

So get yourself collared, put your hair high up into a ponytail (add a bouffant, if u may) and flick out a thick eyeliner. Indian Diva is ready to roll.
